DIANNE H.B. WELSH, Ph.D. is the architect of the entrepreneurship program at The University of North Carolina-Greensboro (http://entrepreneurship.uncg.edu), including the cross-disciplinary Entrepreneurship program with 46 courses in 26 departments that has won six major national and international awards. A minor and major is available in the Creative Industries. Dianne is the Hayes Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship and is President of Family First International, Inc. Dianne created the curriculum for the Business of Art and Design at the Ringling School of Art and Design. She is the founder of two successful Self-Employment in the Arts (SEA) regional conferences: Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida; and Greensboro, North Carolina. Dianne founded and chaired Self-Employment in the Arts Conference that was held from 2006-2008 at the University of Tampa for the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. In 2009, she founded and chaired the Southern Entrepreneurship in the Arts Conference (http://seac.uncg.edu) at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Greensboro, North Carolina that is now in its sixth year and has been attended by 1,500 artist entrepreneurs. She continuously co-chairs the conference and is its biggest supporter.

 

Her new book, Creative Cross-Disciplinary Entrepreneurship: A Practical Guide for Cross-Campus Programs will be available December, 2014 from Palgrave-MacMillan. Dianne does consulting to universities, programs, and organizations on arts entrepreneurship and cross-disciplinary entrepreneurship as well as workshops at conferences.
