SEA 2020-21 & Covid-19:

When we left the 20th Annual SEA Conference the end of February 2020, none of us really had a grasp on what lied ahead. In less than a month, most of us would see our daily lives drastically altered whether that meant working from home or trying to figure out how to pay bills now that creative work was halted. Our world is definitely in a different place.

After careful evaluation, we have decided to cancel the 2021 conference and reimagine what the 21st year of SEA will look like. While we are very disappointed that we won't be able to gather together in person in February, we are excited at what we have in store. This is an opportunity for us to connect with all of you in ways we never thought possible. As one of our well loved former keynote's stated:

"Now is not the time to just settle for ordinary. We encourage you, instead, to take advantage of this time for reinvention, innovation, and the extraordinary. Just because you have to do it differently, doesn't mean it has to be inferior to how it was done before."

- Jade Simmons, artist and independent presidential candidate

Covid-19 Artist Interview Series:
How to move your art business forward during these uncertain times
We are excited to present this new series virtually live on Facebook. Ten interviews are scheduled with a variety of our past SEA Presenters to talk about how their art careers have been affected by Covid-19, how they are adapting, and tips for success during these challenging times. Interviews run Monday and Thursday evenings at 7 PM CST June 22nd through the end of July. The live recordings are then available on our Youtube channel. For a list of upcoming interviews, click here. For access to past recordings, click here.
Artist Chats
Looking to connect with a creative professional in a small group setting? Many of the guests we are interviewing as part of the Covid-19 Artist series are available for a one hour small group chat. There is a small nominal fee for these chats and space is limited. For more information and a link to register, see the "details" section for any of the events listed here.
Where Are They Now?
As we put together the 20th Annual SEA Conference last winter, we came across many former attendees who were now succeeding at what they love to do - their art! So, we decided we needed to collect these stories in a more formal way. We're sharing profiles of past attendees on our Facebook page and our website. We also will be adding live interviews in the coming year. Stay tuned! In the meantime, visit our Facebook page for recent profiles and if you are a past attendee and would like to share your "Where are you now?" story with us, click this link.
Virtual Networking Coffee Breaks
Every Wednesday at 11 AM CST, join us for a chance to build your network and stay connected with other creatives from across the country. Through our SEA Mastermind Facebook Group, we'll be providing a link to Zoom where you can join the conversation. The SEA Mastermind is a free closed group. To join, visit
